Annual Memorial Lecture

The 1st Prof. S K Chakraborty Memorial Lecture was organized on November 29,2019 at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture(RKMIC),Golpark,Kolkata-29 at 6 pm at the famous Vivekananda Hall; the programme opened with auspicious Vedic Chanting by the RKMIC Youth Group; Welcome Address was delivered by the Chairman, Dr. Chowdhury and Presidential Address by Swami Suparnananda, Secretary, RKMIC; The biographical Monograph titled ‘Beyond Autumn Clouds—A Tribute to Prof. S K Chakraborty’,the first of the Shraddarghya Series, authored by Prof. B K Sarkar and sponsored by NTPC Ltd., was released in this programme by Swami Suparnananda; the Memorial Lecture was then delivered by Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice-Chancellor, RKM Vivekananda University, Belur on ‘Vedantic Way of Living—Swami Vivekananda’s Two Paradigms’ which made the audience spellbound at his superb oratory skill involving a beautiful blend of serious note with humorous interjections; the Vote of Thanks was well presented by Dr. Arunangshu Chakraborty; the whole programme was co-ordinated by Prof. Sarkar. The huge crowd that gathered in the Hall as well as the staff of RKMIC were served with prasadam packets at the end of the programme.

Research Monograph

A biographical monograph on the life and work of Prof. Chakraborty has been published by the Trust. So far (till December 2023), the Trust has published three more monographs titled:

  1. Core Values & Leadership-Thoughts & Aphorisms

  2. Education for Values in Post-Independence India: A Critical Review

  3. Leadership and Sustainable Peace: SDG, ESG & Beyond

Dissemination of Concepts of Human Values & Indian Leadership

The Trust has been vigorously propagating Prof. Chakraborty's School of Thought related to Human Values based Comprehensive Human Development. Prof. B K Sarkar, student and associate of Prof. Chakraborty, through his over hundred research level publications, speeches and programmes has been actively pursuing the goal. Dr. Debangshu Chakraborty, Shri Satyajit Panda and many other esteemed members of the Friends & Associates of the Trust are also very active in this regard.

Prof. S K Chakraborty had popularised a model among the students, teachers & corporates on the perennial Indian Leadership Theory called Rajarshi Leadership through his pioneering book on this subject published by Sri Aurobindo Society, Pondicherry. Prof. B K Sarkar has been sincerely carrying forward the legacy and has recently authored the second unique book in this area, published by Sri Aurobindo Society, Pondicherry. Awareness Campaign on Management of Mental Stress in relation to Leadership based on Indian Ethos

Some highly referenced articles, Papers and books have been composed including research papers and articles —two of them are being included as Chapters in edited international volumes published by Springer International; some of them have been published in international research networks like SSRN as also in various journals; one book titled Perennial Values: Stress-free Ethical Leadership during Crisis (comprising 208 pages, Paper Back international edition) has been published from Europe which has been promoted in almost all European languages, Japanese, Chinese and other languages through most of the international distribution giants; content of another book titled The Art of Indian Leadership: Essays on Rājarshi Vision has been completed and is in the process of publication;

Conducting Executive Development Programmes

The Trust has been regularly conducting EDPs with the executives of PSEs and other organisations on Human Values, Ethics, Leadership and Stress Management. Hundreds of executives of several units of NTPC Ltd., India, PowerGrid Corporation, India & other organisations have gone through online EDPs on Human Values based Leadership and Human Values based Mental Stress Management.

Creation & Dissemination of Academic Content

Conceptualisation and preparation of course content along with digitization of other academic materials are being carried out under the guidance of Dr. Debangshu Chakraborty.

Extending Academic & Research Support

The Trust has been researching the extensive literature on Values Education and Indian Leadership (particularly academic leadership) generated in post-independence India by various national agencies and ministries. It has also organized a Teacher Training Programme for senior teachers and academic administrators of Indian secondary and senior secondary schools. More such programmes are being planned.
